Sen. Lieberman-Warner Bill Bad for Labor, Bad for Taxpayers
This week, the U.S. Senate is considering S. 3036, the "Lieberman-Warner Climate Security Act of 2008." This flawed legislation is opposed by several national and grassroots organizations. Among foremost concerns, this bill will impose the largest excise tax increase in U.S. history of $1.2 trillion over 10 years. Additionally, S. 3036 expands the scope and application of the Davis-Bacon Act three times.
